Mitsubishi's 7 New Air-Cons Detects People

Mitsubishi wants to make your rooms cooler and hopefully, more energy-efficient, with its 7 new air conditioner units. They can do that simply by housing an advanced infrared sensor that will adjust the room temperature based on the locations of people in the room.

These new ZW series will come equipped with the new technology which works by dividing the room up into a number of sections to scan for humans, directing the air-flow appropriately and switching to economic mode to conserve power when the room becomes empty (wonder if it will switch off if everyone left and switch back on if someone enters the room). What's more, the air-con unit appears to be able to analyze a person's or family's seating habits over a few weeks and probably adjust the settings accordingly.

Soon to be available in Japan by mid December. Expect to save your year-end bonus for it.
